AVLA teachers are competent in a broad range of learning platforms that support you and your student. Our teachers utilize high powered on-line engines to personalize each lesson plan for your student.

All of our Learning Centers have computer labs with state of the art software and applications. Your student will have the opportunity to play, practice and publish written work using our high quality equipment.

Promethean Boards ® – Many of our Learning Center Classrooms have Promethean Boards ®, which allow for interactive research and long-distance learning. This interactive whiteboard technology enables teachers to create, customize and integrate text, images, quizzes and tests, web, video and audio content. The use of Promethean Boards allow teachers to more easily capture students' attention and accommodate different learning styles.

Online Adaptive Testing – Students interface with EdPerformance by Scantron, an online assessment system, to accurately and regularly gauge progress in reading/language arts and mathematics throughout the year. This assessment system allows our teachers to effectively monitor mastery of core content subject matter and provide the targeted, objectives based interventions when needed. For our K-2 students, we utilize the Renaissance-STAR Early Literacy program to assess their reading and math skills.

Virtual Field Trips – Our students can visit fun, educational and interesting locations without ever leaving the classroom! Our state-of-the art equipment and connections offer students and teachers the exciting opportunity of visiting a NASA Space Center, behind the scenes look at New Your Broadway Theatres and other school classrooms around the country!
